Doug Martin plays on the worship team at Valley Park Church in North Hills, California. I originally met Doug and his equally talented wife, Teresa, when they played some of their original music at my church (Teresa is the sister of one of my mentors, Matt Smith, who led worship at my church when I came to faith).

Doug’s style of music is a barebones, storytelling style that is all at once sincere, beautiful, instructive, and glorifying to God.

Featured Worship Artist: Doug Martin (whilewerewaiting.com)
Includes song “Surrender”

Notable Quote: “I think for the most part Christian music – not only from my perspective but by the world – is viewed as kind of overproduced in general and very kind of superficial.” – Doug Martin

Errata: I mention in the podcast that Doug’s church is located on Roscoe. It is on Nordhoff. Ooops! 🙂
